ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN LEGISLATIVE DAY AT THE GEORGIA STATE CAPITOL & 2012 GEROGIA ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN GET OUT TO VOTE LAUNCH

February 9, 2012

OCA-Georgia will launch the 2012 Asian Pacific American Get-Out-The-Vote initiative with Asian Pacific American organizations and community partners on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Georgia State Capitol on Asian Pacific American Legislative Day. It is a free public event for Asian Pacific Americans and community partners from across the state to visit the Capitol, learn about advocacy from the League of Women Voters, meet with their elected officials, attend caucus meetings, participate in an official recognition of 2012 Asian Pacific American Legislative Day, recognize Asian Pacific American Law Enforcement & Community organizations, and launch the Asian Pacific American Get-Out-The-Vote initiative. SOUTHEAST REGIONAL SUMMIT

March 16, 2012

The White House Initiative of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders will host its first ever Southeast Regional Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. Topics to be discussed include Small Business Development, Health and Housing, and Immigration. Keynote Speaker will be Chris Lu, Special Assistant to President Obama and Cabinet Secretary. GEORGIA HB 87 AND THE ANTI-IMMIGRATION MOVEMENT

Charles Kuck, Dale Schwartz and Nicole Kersey will be joining us for a panel discussion on Georgia HB 87, the anti-immigration wave sweeping the country and other hot topics in immigration.
